| | More Details ~ - ID badges must be worn at all times. Progress is monitored on individual Progress Cards at the end of each session. Heart rates, blood pressure, and weight are also recorded.
Incentives are given to participants as they reach the 25, 50, 100, 250, and 500-mile mark.
- Restrooms are located in the corridor by the Management Office on the upper level.
- You will see program staff walking the opposite direction of the group. This is done for monitoring purposes only, to ensure safety for all Mall Walker participants.
- Some Walkers have colored dots on their badges. This is a signal to program staff that cardiac problems, pulmonary problems, or diabetes exist. This is done to ensure that appropriate emergency procedures can be carried out if necessary. Doctors releases will be required of everyone.
- The Mall Walkers program will be closed on all legal holidays and will follow the Prince George's County School System's inclement weather policy. When Prince George's schools are closed we will be closed too.
- You may leave your coats and purses at the registration area while you walk. There will be someone at that location to watch them at all times. We do recommend, however, that you leave important possessions at home. If you leave them in your car, please make sure they are in the trunk and not visible.
- In case of an emergency, such as fire, staff will instruct you on actions to take.
